The Susan Benjamin Collection

Susan Benjamin's passion for Georgian enamels led to Halcyon Days' revival in 1970 of this classic English craft and she personally oversaw its development for more than three decades. Susan has been invited to select designs for a prestigious Susan Benjamin Collection of just five boxes. A special backstamp on each one will include the date and her signature.

  The Susan Benjamin Collection: The Wallace Collection

  Halcyon Days’ association with the Wallace Collection has led to some of our most beautiful enamels. This lovely gold-embellished box was inspired by a Sèvres porcelain plaque in a Louis XVI marqueterie work-table dating from 1783 and was first issued by Halcyon Days in 1989.

  The Susan Benjamin Collection: 'La Musique' by François Boucher (1703-1770)

  A design which typifies the romantic subjects selected by Georgian enamellers, this idyllic scene appears on a snuff box of circa 1770 in the Schreiber Collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

  The Susan Benjamin Collection: Robert Hancock (1730-1817)

  'Birds with an Overturned Basket of Fruit' by the famous engraver Robert Hancock is among the most renowned subjects to have appeared on 18th-century English enamel boxes and the design has also inspired earlier Halcyon Days’ editions. This lovely box is inspired by one dating from circa 1775.

  The Susan Benjamin Collection: William Segal (1904-2000)

  American artist, writer and mystic, William Segal, for many years was spiritual leader in the USA of the Gurdieff Foundation. In 1988, in Paris, he gave his close friends Bill and Susan Benjamin the beautiful lithograph 'Lavender' - the inspiration for this elegant box.
