After Henry acquired the palace from Cardinal Wolsey, he spent vast sums developing it into a magnificent royal residence. The Great Gatehouse is depicted on this box with the King's Arms and a border of Tudor Roses with 'eavesdroppers' - carved wooden heads from the rafters of the Great Hall - whilst inside the base is a terracotta roundel of a Roman emperor from the Anne Boleyn Gatehouse.
